June 15, 2026 – Wrapping Up an Incredible 2026 Regionals!
As the sun sets on the 2026 AAC BC/VI/Yukon Regional Championships, we want to extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who made this weekend such a phenomenal success.
An event of this magnitude truly takes a village, and we are incredibly proud of how our community came together.
Our deepest thanks to:
- Our Generous Sponsors: An event of this scale is simply not possible without your incredible support. Thank you for investing in our agility community and helping us elevate the competitor experience this year.
- Our Outstanding Judges: Thank you for designing fantastic, challenging courses and for your tireless dedication out on the fields. Your expertise and positive energy kept the spirits high and the event running smoothly.
- The Army of Volunteers: From ring crews and scribes to gate stewards and course builders, this event simply could not happen without you. Thank you for stepping up, braving the heat, and giving your time so selflessly.
- Our Vendors: Thank you for lining the venue with fantastic gear, delicious treats, and essential services. You added so much vibrant energy to the environment and kept both humans and dogs happy and fueled all weekend.
- Our Dedicated Security Staff: Thank you for working tirelessly behind the scenes to keep our venue, equipment, and—most importantly—our beloved dogs safe and secure throughout the entire event.
- The Capital Comets Organizing Committee: Months of planning, late nights, and hard work culminated in this weekend. Thank you for your leadership, vision, and unwavering commitment to putting on a top-tier event.
- The Competitors and Their Remarkable Dogs: Thank you for bringing your passion, sportsmanship, and incredible teamwork to the rings. Watching the bond between you and your dogs is the absolute best part of this sport. Congratulations to all who achieved their goals, hit new milestones, or simply enjoyed cheering on their teammates!
Overcoming the Hurdles
As with any major undertaking, we faced a few unexpected hiccups along the way. However, thanks to the quick thinking of our organizing committee, the generosity of several people, and the patience of our competitors, we were able to manage these challenges and deliver a safe, successful, and highly competitive event.
Thank you all for making the 2026 Regionals an unforgettable weekend. Safe travels home, hug your talented dogs, and we look forward to seeing you all again soon!
With gratitude, The Capital Comets Dog Sports Club.

June 11, 2026
Twas the night before Regionals, and all through the site, Not a handler was sitting, they worked through the night. The weave poles were lined up with meticulous care, In hopes that clean runs would be happening there.
The dogs were all nestled up tight in their crates, While visions of gamble points danced in their pates. And Viv in her jacket, and I in my cap, Had just settled down for a brief, frantic nap.
When out on the turf there arose such a clatter, I sprang from the van to see what was the matter. Away to the ring-gate I flew like a flash, To see if a contact had suffered a crash.
The moon on the breast of the freshly cut green, Gave a luster of midday to this special trial scene. When what to my wondering eyes should appear, But a course designed purely to test veterans with care!
With a judge so decisive, so lively and quick, I knew in a moment we’d need every trick. More rapid than eagles the handlers they came, And they whistled, and shouted, and called dogs by name:
“Now, Rover! Now, Bella! Now, Cooper and Daisy! On, Tucker! On, Luna! Don’t let up, be swift and with joy! To the top of the A-frame! And straight through the wall! Now dash away! Dash away! Dash away all!”
As leaves that before the wild hurricane fly, When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky, So up to the dog-walk the agility pups flew, With cars full of toys, and the handlers there too.
And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the floor The ticking of paws near the tunnels galore. As I drew in my head, and was turning around, Through the tire jump a Border Collie did bound.
He was sleek from his head to the tip of his tail, And he flew o’er the spreads without dropping a rail. A bundle of tug toys he had in his grip, And he looked like a champion making the trip.
His eyes—how they twinkled! His contact, how tight! His serpentine handling was purely a sight! His droll little mouth was pulled back in a grin, As the crowd started cheering to see the dog win.
The leash in the hand of the handler was held, As the timer ticked down and the confidence swelled. They had a clean sweep of the standard and jumpers, With scores that were absolute record-book thumpers!
They were fast and precise, a right talented team, And they ran the steeplechase just like a dream. A wink of the eye and a twist of the hip, Let the dog know exactly the line of the clip.
They spoke not a word, but went straight to their work, Hit the yellow zone clean, then turned with a jerk. And laying a hand on the ribbon of red, And giving a nod, to the crating they sped.
The judge blew the whistle, to the scribe gave a sign, And the team walked away feeling utterly fine. But I heard them exclaim, ere they drove out of sight — “Happy Regionals to all, and to all a clean run!“
